4th March Selections

March 5th, 2010

Hey Guys,

We had two winning selections (losing horses) yesterday, but as the odds were higher than our horse betting system allows, they were not put onto the results spreadsheet for March.

We may start placing these selections on our results spreadsheet as it is possible that our customers could have placed bets on these selections below our specified odds limit, however we would not count these for the overall proft/loss total for the month as this would be altering our system which this change would not do. The purpsoe of adding the void selections is to make it easier to cross reference our daily selections email to the results spreadsheet.

Check the Lay The Best results periodically for any changes.

Make that 5 days running!

February 26th, 2010

Another 100% strike rate today, both selections comfortably came through, especially Kildonnan at 16:25 Warwick.

We had another selection win yesterday (14:10 Southwell – Rain On The Wind) that could not be put on the results spreadsheet as the SP came in above 4/1. I hope some of you got the chance to bet on it before the odds lengthened, I know I did :-)

Have a great weekend everyone!

100% Strike Rate over past 4 days!

February 25th, 2010

Hi Guys,

Another two winning selections today!

We’re having a nice run of form with four successful days. We could have added two more winning selections to our results for yesterday (Prince Charlemange) and today (Rain On The Wind), however both horses went above the 4/1 Starting Price (SP) so it was void under our system, however we still placed a bet on it as it was below 4/1 on Betfair when we sent out the selection.

Did anyone else manage to get 4/1 or below on Betfair for 24th Feb, 16:25 Lingfield – Prince Charlemange???

Even though we send out winning selections we will never post them in the results spreadsheet if they go above 4/1 SP, so by doing this we are actually reducing our strike rate and profit to give our customers a more open picture of the results they would expect to achieve following our system.

Double Unit Lays

February 25th, 2010

Hi Guys,

We have decided to stop sending out double unit lays.  Looking at the results they have benefitted some months and not beneffitted others, so generally they are neutral, but its never nice to lose a double unit lay as I’m sure some of you have experienced, therefore we feel removing them will provide a lower risk approach and unable our customers to operate with a smaller bank roll on Betfair.

This was communicated to everyone over email today,  feel free to post any comments.

January 2010 Results Spreadsheet

February 25th, 2010

Hi Guys,

After we informed everyone of reverting back to horse racing only http://www.laythebest.co.uk/blog/2010/02/january-2010-results/ the majority of our customers told us they never started to use the other sports selections anyway, so we removed all other sports from January’s results which went up to January 17th as this would better reflect the month for the majority of our customers and match up better to their personal accounts for the month.

We also decided to discontinue other sports as it was getting to a point that if customers did want to follow every other sport selection along with the regular horse racing selections, it would be too time consuming for most people to place such a high volume of bets per month. In November 2009 we sent out 137 selections for all sports including horse racing, this is a big jump compared to our historical average of around 40 horse racing selections per month. We thought in the long term our customers may stop following the system as it required too many monthly bets to achieve the exact results we posted and our customers need to follow every selection to truly get the most from the system and give it a fair chance.

We have had a couple of negative comments for removing the other sports selections for January, so we have placed these back online as we do not want some our customers to feel they have been deceived.

All of our results are 100% genuine and you can check them using many of the sites out there that have historic results such as http://www.racingpost.com.  We would never intentionally deceive our customers and why would we? If our results did not match our selections then we would not be in business and have a dedicated base of customers who have subscribed to our service month after month.

If you have any questions regarding this please use our contact form http://www.laythebest.co.uk/contact.html or post a comment on this blog.

January 2010 Results

February 1st, 2010

Hi Guys,

Well we decided to ditch the ‘Other Sports’ selections in January after a survey revealed that the majority of our customers only use the Horse Racing selections and prefer just one E-mail per morning to be sent out, rather than be at their computer in the evening for ‘other sports’ as well.

This have proved to be successful, as we made a +10.89 Unit start to the year throughout January with our Horse Racing selections!

Good luck to all and may the New Year be a prosperous time for you!

Cheers,

Paul

175 Units Profit in 2009!

January 2nd, 2010

Hi Guys,

December was a bit of a roller coaster month,  however in the end I would consider it to be a success. There was an unusually high volume of surprise results, which saw most other tipsters taking a hammering, so to come out just 3.8 units down was very pleasing. Considering that this was our first ever losing month, to be such a small amount was satisfying.

On the positive, we ended the year 175 units up!! That’s a £17,500 profit if using a £100 unit stake. £87,500 profit for a £500 unit stake!

Looking forward to 2010, we hope to add an SMS service by March, so that we can text the selections to our members as well as via E-mail. We will send futher details of this nearer the time.

We’ve already got off to a great start in 2010 with both selections on 1st January winning for a 3 unit gain.

Best wishes and here’s to a successful year!

Paul

11 Out of 11 Winning Months!

December 1st, 2009

Hi Guys,

Just reporting on another successful month as we finished +7.5 units up for the month of November. That brings us to our 11th month of the year without loss, and our 47th month overall without loss!

The last week of the month was slightly dissapointing, as at one point we were looking at a +21 unit profit, however nothing seemed to go right during the last week at all and we finished +7.5 units up.

From the 1st December we will be slightly more conservative with the ‘other sports’ selections, as we have a very large range of contacts providing us with information regarding these. It is sometimes too easy to go overboard and make too many selections.

We’ll stick to what we know best, which is horse racing and be a lot more selective with the ‘other sports’ and hopefully we’ll finish the year with a final month profit of 15+ units.

I’d like to thank our loyal customers who from the start of this year are 178 units up so far! For new customers, here’s to a successful future.

Cheers,

Paul

‘Other Sports’ Selections

November 23rd, 2009

Hi Guys,

A popular question we are being asked by new customers is “Why have you started making ‘Other Sports’ selections as well as Horse Racing selections from October of this year?”

Our long term members will already know this, but basically we have always sent out these ‘Other Sports’ selections on a daily basis, however prior to October of this year, they were sent out as “bonus lays”.

They weren’t included in our results previously because not every customer chose to use them, however due to good performance (an average of 40 extra units profit per year), we decided to start sending them out as official lays from October this year.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

Paul

November 13th/14th Results

November 15th, 2009

Hi Guys,

Just a quick update with the last two days results which have been very interesting! 12 winning lays out of 13 selections for a net profit of +9.93 units!

The only losing lay was Garde Champetre at short odds (1.73) in the Cheltenham 15:00 on the 13th! We thought that his impressive Cross Country record would come to an end due to the favourable weight allowance his close rival’s were receiving. As the race panned out, he made a late challenge and took the lead, but then needed the line as Heads On The Ground and Sizing Australia were fast closing again. He hung on though and is undoubtedly now going to go down as the best Cross Country horse in history.

Out of the 12 winning selections, highlights have included Tsonga being beaten by Nadal which was priced up very inaccurately with Tsonga as the 8/13 favourite! Normally this would be about right if Nadal was fatigued as he’s proven in the past that he can’t play while fatigued, however we received information that it was actually Tsonga who was feeling the effects of his last game more so than Nadal.

Next best was Detroit beating Washington in the NBA last night! Again, this was priced up inaccurately, with Washington being the 8/13 favourite. Detroit were missing their two main scoring offensive players, however the bookmakers didn’t seem to take into account that Washington’s defense is the worst in the league and their offensive players have gone cold also (only winning 2 games this season!).

So quite a nice two days to report on. This month is shaping up to be one of our highest in a while!

Cheers,

Paul
